History
The beginings of the Logan Alumni Band.

A casual conversation in 1974 between two Logan High School graduates, almost 50 years ago resulted in what has become a wonderful event for LHS Band Alumni. The two graduates were Myrna Derr Shaw Gabriel and Charlotte Demar Kornmiller.
"Charlotte and I were just sitting up in the stands one evening watching the band perform, and I turned around and said, 'Wouldn't it be great if we had some kind of an alumni band?'" Myrna recalled. They went to Mr. Al Horsky who was band director at the time. They presented their idea and with the help of his wife, Joanne Horsky, the idea became a reality.
The first performance of the Logan Alumni Band took place in 1975. The band performed again in 1978 and continues to perform every two years. "I love to march, and this gives me and everyone else a chance to get out there and perform." stated Myrna.
Mr. Horsky had been the director of the Logan Alumni Band since its' first performance in 1975 and served in that position until is death in 2010. At that point Mr. Jeff North the LHS Director of Bands took over directing the Logan Alumni Band and still serves in that position today.
