Logan Alumni Band
Making Musical Memories
Welcome
The Logan Alumni Band performs every two years at the first Logan High School home football game of the season. The band is comprised of graduates of The Logan Marching Chieftains. All Marching Chieftain graduates are invited to participate in this biennial event. We practice for two hours on Tuesday and Thursday before the Friday game.
We take a trip back in time as we enter the field for Pregame with "Fast Entrance" and "Fanfare". We follow that up by marching down the field playing "Onward Chieftains" before meshing with the LHS Marching Chieftains and preparing to join them in the playing of "The Star Spangled Banner". We then form the traditional LHS letters on the field as we play the Al Horsky arrangement of the "LHS Fightsong" At this point it's time to play the "LHS Alma Mater" before we right flank and exit the field.
After the game is completed, we step back onto the field to participate in the Post Game Show. We play all the crowd favorites including "Long Train Running", "Ain't Been Good", "Cheer" and the LHS special arrangement of "Taps". The evening ends with the LHS Alumni Band Drumline playing cadences until the lights are turned out.

If you are an LHS Marching Chieftain Alumni, we hope you will join us this Fall for the 2024 Logan Alumni Band performance!

A Long History of Music
Logan High School has a long history of instrumental music. Concert bands and marching bands have been a long standing tradition at LHS. Here is a look back of some of those groups with pictures as early as 1922.
